I didn’t realize just how wide Gadget is until I took this picture and saw. He’s a monster of a pug!
Also, I just saw Odie the Talking Pug. OMG! He can say, “I love you”
A pug that can talk! wow!
Here’s the link: Odie the Talking Pug

The pugs sure don’t know what to make of the roomba yet. For the first 10 minutes of operation, they both sat on the chairs they were sitting on and watched it go back and forth, back and forth. It was really funny!
Anyway, in this picture, you can almost see the look of ‘terror’ in Gadget’s eyes as the roomba approaches him. They’re OK with the roomba for a while, but when it starts to invade their space, they jump up and run to a place that the roomba can’t reach.

This is a quick snap of Gizmo while Tricia and I were watching Six Feet Under.
The boys hadn’t had a bath in *TOO* long, So i took them over to my parents’ house to wash them off. Even though they’re URBAN pugs, sometimes it’s easier to become suburban pugs for a day to get a bath a little bit easier.
Anyway, after that, we went through the usual bathtime, “i’ve been washed now i shed everywhere” routine, and i’m just now getting all the loose hair totally brushed out of them.
Does anyone have any *good* ways to reduce the amount of hair that pugs lose naturally? The only thing that’s ever worked for me is to just brush *LOTS* of it out in one big session, usually after a bath. That usually pulls off enough hair that they don’t shed for a while.
Any products? solutions? Thanks!

To answer the question on everyone’s mind, Gizmo likes euro-pop techno and 80’s music. Right here, he’s listening to some Duran Duran.
Gizmo really does have a wide variety of taste in music, but he mostly likes happy music that puts him in a good mood.
Gadget likes Jazz Fusion, Classical, and Old School Hip-Hop.

Well, he’s not so little, but he is happy.
Here’s Gadget with a big smile on his face. I’m really busy with things this week, but I’m trying to keep putting new pictures up. Follow the links to flickr to see what I had for dinner last night!

Tonight, Tricia was studying for a law school final, and I was working on a project at my computer. Gizmo ended up spending the evening on the chair next to his mom, and Gadget fell asleep on a chair i’d pulled up next to me, with his head nudged up against my leg.
This is the result.
Also, I’m working on a page about pug breeders for when people ask me questions. If you’ve got any input, please post a comment or email me at matt@urbanpug.com – THANKS!

I saw Gadget over on his pillow, and the position he was in was so cute I couldn’t believe it. I just HAD to grab my camera ASAP and get a quick shot.
Also, on the way to the store this morning, i saw TWO people walking pugs, and then, after all that, I saw a pug in a pug (vw) with his head out the window!
If only i had my camera then.

Gizmo loves to put his head on top of my head, so whenever i sit down on the sofa, he hops up onto the *back* of the sofa and sits so he can be right next to my face.
I’m not sure exactly why he does this, but he really DOES insist on it.

Gizmo, Gadget, Spirit, and maybe 1 or 2 of the other pugs have this obsession with biting your hand when they’re excited to see you. Not ‘bad’ bites, it’s more like the extension of a lick. Gadget especially loves to do this, and every day when I get home from work, I pet him (and Gizmo, of course), and I let him have a little bite on my knuckles.
Notes: I’ve added The Best Boys to my Great Big Page of Pug Blogs. If you know of any other pug blogs, send the links over, and i’ll add them!

I just love LJCFYI.
First of all, she’s a Pug Lover.
Second, the blog’s look and feel is just killer. It’s really a truly inspiring site design, to me.
Third, she gardens. (I’m growing rosemary, mint, squash, cucumbers, basil, and tomatoes on the roof right outside my window)
Fourth, she has a volkswagon (So do I)
Fifth, she’s a Pug Lover.
Also, she’s got a Pug Sticker on her car, and she posted it on her blog. How cool is that?

So, I’ve managed to rig the new gate so that it’s easy to put up — and i’ve figured out how to place it so that the boys can’t sneak under it.
All that is good. However, I’m sitting here looking at them lounging on the sofa, and I get sad knowing that I’m not letting them lie there all day. Gizmo looks SO content right now, and I’m confining him to a hallway!

I’ve been building up the e-cards program, and I’ve added all the images i’ve posted on flickr that people have marked as “favorites” to the ready-made e-cards. From here on out, all the images posted from flickr are going to have a little “e-card” button you can click to send cards.
In ACTUAL pug news, i’ve gotten a wooden wire frame gate to keep the boys in a hallway while i’m out of the house. I really don’t like doing this, but they’re not neutered, and they’re not going to be neutered. SINCE they’re not, they mark everywhere — not when anyone is home, though, only when they’re alone. We think it has something to do with them getting mad at us, but who knows for sure.
At first, the marking wasn’t a problem, because it was just on the floors here, which are concrete. However, the marking eventually moved to the sofa, which is a “very bad thing.” Anyway, forced to take somewhat drastic measures, the boys now stay in the hallway while we’re out.
Now, the funniest thing is that the boys have figured out that if i don’t put the gate up low enough (because of the baseboard), they can shimmy underneath it. We didn’t figure this out until we actually saw them doing it. — Imagine a pug shimmying, belly to the floor, underneath a gate!
You’d think there were food on the other side.

Here’s the news. I’m working on an urbanpug e-card service. You should now be able to click the little button that says, “send this as an e-card” — to send the photo to someone as an e-card.
I’m going to be improving it — right now, it looks pretty ugly, except for the photos, of course.
I’ll be improving the look of things, but for now, you can send urbanpug photos as e-cards.
Oh, and i’ll be adding all the most popular photos of the boys to a page of pre-made ecards for you to send pug lovers across the world.
The picture is of gizmo in my lap while i was coding this thing.
